The City Council is now accepting applications for the following boards

The City Council of the City of Brooksville is now accepting applications from individuals interested in volunteering their time to serve as a member of the following advisory boards or commissions. Please submit the Advisory Board Application as soon as possible to allow time for process and background check approval. 

Planning and Zoning Commission (City residency required)

  • One full-time position for an unexpired four-year term of office through December 31, 2027
  • Two alternate positions 
    1. One to fill an unexpired four-year term of office through December 31, 2028
    2. One to fill a four-year term of office through December 31, 2029

Beautification Board 

  • One alternate member for a four-year term through December 31, 2029 (voting rights when serving in place of an absent full-time member – attendance policy applies to alternates)
  • One-year (from date of appointment) for student representative on Board.  (does not vote) 

Parks and Recreation Advisory Board

  • One full-time position for a four-year term of office through December 31, 2029.
  • One alternate position for an unexpired four-year term of office through December 31, 2027

Brooksville Housing Authority

  • One alternate four-year term through December 31, 2029. 

Alternates vote in place of an absent full-time member but encouraged to attend all meetings– attendance policy applies to alternates.

Resumes alone will not be accepted.  An application form may be obtained from the office of the City Clerk or on the City of Brooksville website and must be completed and returned to the City Clerk’s Office at 201 Howell Ave.  Positions are open until filled.  Contact the City Clerk’s Office at (352) 540-3810 with any questions.  All applicants for these volunteer positions must be registered voters in the State of Florida.  A background check will be required on any applicant.
