The City of Brooksville is moving forward with the following Initiatives to protect the Health, Safety and Welfare of the citizens, residents and employees of the City of Brooksville during this pandemic of the Corona Virus COVID-19.

03/30/20 - Message from Mayor
03/30/20 - As per the recommendation issued by the National Recreation and Park Association on playgrounds and play structures, and to achieve the goal of social distancing during this COVID pandemic, the City of Brooksville has closed the playground structure at Bud McKethan Park and Tom Varn Park until further notice.

03.19.2020 Change of City operations and Property Appraiser's Office at City Hall - City Hall, Fire Department, Jerome Brown Community Center, Public Works, Cobb Road Water Treatment Plant closed to the Public.
03.18.2020 At this time, City services are operational although there could be changes as the health, safety and welfare of the community change with the development of the Coronavirus.
03.18.2020 Parks & Recreation Protective Measures Initiated - All events and sports tournaments, both indoor and outdoor, scheduled from March 18, 2020 thru April 5, 2020 at City of Brooksville facilities are suspended and cancelled. No further bookings will be accepted during the effective period.
03.16.2020 City Council Meeting - On March 16, 2020, City Council enacted and Emergency Declaration and approved Resolution No 2020-07. All events were cancelled or postponed within the City of Brooksville through May 30, 2020. As a City, we are actively responding to the threat of COVID-19. We are working closely with the Florida Department of Health, who in turn is working closely with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention to determine the best course of action for the City of Brooksville, employees, businesses, residents and visitors.
03.13.2020 Brooksville Fire Department Prepares and Plans for COVID-19 - The Brooksville Fire Department is currently working in coordination with HCFR, the Medical Director, the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to determine and enact the apropriate Dispatch screenings, Levels of response, Body Substance Isolation, Personal Prtoective Equipment, Decontamination procedures and employee medical monitoring are among the many directives being followed.
