In cooperation with the Southwest Florida Water Management District in recognition of the need to conserve water, the City of Brooksville adopted Ordinance 816, which limits unnecessary landscaped watering. Irrigate as needed using hand watering, micro-irrigation, or other low-volume watering methods.
Use IFAS/NRCS best management practices for turfgrass, landscaping and other water use activities that are essential to their operation.
All irrigation systems must be operated so that surface water runoff is eliminated according to best management practices. Overhead irrigation is not permitted between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and must be reduced to the maximum extent possible. Use best management practices for water use activities that are essential to their operation.
