Advanced position responsible for enforcing the Laws of the Federal Government, State of Florida and City of Brooksville Code of Ordinances.  Duties include, but are not limited to, modern patrol techniques including a working knowledge of Community policing practices, line supervisory skills, defensive tactics, traffic control, police vehicle safety, firearms, investigations, first responder techniques.  Advanced legal knowledge of the criminal justice system and courtroom procedures required, along with daily public contact requiring tact, courtesy and interpersonal communication skills.  Supplemental academic incentive pay for eligible employees.

This is a full-time, hourly position with great benefits to include paid holidays, sick and vacation leave, medical, dental, life insurance and retirement plans.  Annual starting salary is $40,272.

Reports directly to the Fire Chief.  Supervises the daily operations of the department relating to the delivery of customer service, fire suppression, Emergency Medical, and Hazardous Materials responses within the city or as otherwise dispatched.  When directed assumes the duties of the Fire Chief in his absence.

A Sanitation Collector loads/unloads solid waste/recyclables to and from sanitation vehicles. The person in this job will be expected to safely perform manual tasks with speed and efficiency. This person works under the daily authority of a Sanitation Operator (vehicle driver) who will assign duties needed to complete daily collection routes. This person will be responsible for cleaning and maintenance of sanitation vehicles and dumpsters. Job performance will be based on compliance with established guidelines, satisfactory performance of required job duties and schedules set by the Department. This person must be capable of being insured under the City’s insurance carrier. A person in this job will perform other duties as necessary and assigned.

This position installs, repairs and maintains water and sewer system components, according to City standards and regulations; ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision. This position requires mechanical aptitude to exercise good independent judgment. Subject to call out in emergencies, scheduled to work nights, weekends and/or holidays on occasion as necessary. This position is supervised by the Crew Leader with ultimate oversight by the Public Works Supervisor. **THIS IS A TEMP POSITION**

This position requires skilled work in the collection and transportation of solid waste using a front loader collection truck. The work is performed individually which requires a positive attitude to maintain efficient job production. Incumbents perform driving and loading duties, perform daily and weekly equipment safety, cleaning, lubrication and other maintenance tasks. Work schedules  may vary and include nights, weekends and/or holidays, and call outs in emergencies. Bulk container ("Dumpster") collection represents the main commercial Solid Waste service provided by the City. Position is supervised by the Sanitation Operations Supervisor.

This position is temporary full-time to last approximately six (months) from the date of hire , no benefits. Starting pay $12.69 hourly, depending on experience. Applications will be accepted until filled.
