A Sanitation Collector loads/unloads solid waste/recyclables to and from sanitation vehicles. The person in this job will be expected to safely perform manual tasks with speed and efficiency. This person works under the daily authority of a Sanitation Operator (vehicle driver) who will assign duties needed to complete daily collection routes. This person will be responsible for cleaning and maintenance of sanitation vehicles and dumpsters. Job performance will be based on compliance with established guidelines, satisfactory performance of required job duties and schedules set by the Department. This person must be capable of being insured under the City’s insurance carrier. A person in this job will perform other duties as necessary and assigned.  $9.87 per hour, with  benefits, including employee medical insurance, paid leave and holidays and retirement. Position will be opened until filled.

**** PART-TIME ,NO BENEFITS, APPROXIMATELY 20 HOURS A WEEK****

This is an advanced position responsible for enforcing the Laws of the Federal Government, State of Florida and City of Brooksville Code of Ordinances. Duties include, but are not limited to, modern patrol techniques including a working knowledge of Community policing practices, line supervisory skills, defensive tactics, traffic control, police vehicle safety, firearms, investigations, first responder techniques. Advanced legal knowledge of criminal justice system and courtroom procedures required , along with daily public contact requiring tact, courtesy and interpersonal communication skills. Supplemental academic incentive pay for eligible employees.

Job requires high school diploma or equivalent, Florida State Certified Law Enforcement Officer certification and a minimum of two (2) years experience as a sworn law enforcement officer in the State of Florida or five (5) years experience outside of the state with Florida Certification.  Click on the job title to view a full list of job duties/functions. This is a part-time position.  Starting wage is $16.20 per hour and includes no benefits.

This position installs, repairs and maintains water and sewer system components, according to City standards and regulations; ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision. Position functions as lead worker responsible for the operations and maintenance of the Brooksville Cemetery and related cemetery properties. The Brooksville Police Department, a Florida Accredited Law Enforcement Agency, is accepting applications from those interested candidates that are Florida Certified, or those that meet the E.O.T qualifications.

The selected candidate will undergo a Standardized Field Training program earning $17.00 per hour, with benefits. Upon successful completion of the program, the candidate will earn $17.56 - $19.00 per hour, with benefits, DOQ.

Benefits: 2184/12 hour shift schedule, 10 vacation days, 10 sick days (yearly sick buyback plan) and 12 paid holidays per year; employee medical, dental and life insurance plan; 185 pension plan, (6 year vest, 1% paid by employee, 4% multiplier); "take home" police vehicle upon completion of FTO, as per City distance limitations/policy..

Minimum Education & Experience: Must be at least 19 years of age and a citizen of the United States. Graduate from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Must not  have been convicted of a felony, misdemeanor involving perjury or the making of false claims; must not have received a other than Honorable/Dishonorable discharge from any of the armed forces in the United States. Must pass a physical examination with a drug screen; must demonstrate good moral character. Must successfully compete a background investigation, including a polygraph examination and physical agility test. Must be able to successfully complete all training requirements including the State required police academy curriculum, field training program, periodic in-service training and weaponry qualifications and a one-year probationary period. Must be either a Florida State certified law enforcement officer, a graduate of a Florida police academy having passes the Florida State Officer Certification Exam, or a certified officer from another state who completes the Florida State Equivalency course.

Special Requirements: Must possess a valid Florida Class E Driver's license and be insurable by the City's insurance carrier.
