VISION STATEMENT


The VISION of the Brooksville Fire Department is to be recognized by our community leaders and our citizens as a “Standard of Excellence” in providing emergency services through education, training and prevention; a department that is synonymous with the term “Leadership”; a department that fosters an environment of involvement, trust and cohesion; as well as a department responsive to the needs and concerns of the citizens of our community whom we protect, our customers.

MISSION STATEMENT

The MISSION of Brooksville Fire Rescue is to provide services designed to protect the lives and property of citizens in the community we serve. We will achieve this by providing prompt and professional services in the event of a fire, medical emergency, natural disaster, or any other event which may threaten our citizens welfare.

Chief Timothy A. Mossgrove was appointed as the Brooksville Fire Chief on July 18, 2006. Chief Mossgrove started his career in the fire service in 1982 in Wellsburg, West Virginia, with a small community fire department called Franklin Community. He moved to Florida in June 1986 and joined the Brooksville Fire Department as a firefighter. Chief Mossgrove holds an Associate’s Degree (2000) in Applied Science in Fire Service Technology from Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Chief Mossgrove continued his education by graduating in 2009 from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Safety Administration. In August 2011 Chief Mossgrove completed the process and was awarded the designation of Chief Fire Officer from the Center of Public Safety Excellence.

Special Details Print


Brooksville Firefighters are available to work special details for events that require fire protection such as sporting events, bon-fires, fireworks, demolition derbies, tractor pulls etc.   The cost is $25.00/hour with a 3-hour minimum.  To schedule a Special Detail contact District Chief Stan Mettinger at 352-540-3840 or you may download the form and fax to 352-544-5462.

 
Organizational Structure and Staffing Print

The Organizational Structure of the Brooksville Fire Department consist of an administrative section that includes the Fire Chief and Administrative Assistant. The Operations Section consists of:

• Three District Chiefs
• Three Captains
• Three Driver / Engineers
• Seven Firefighter / EMT's
• Six Reserve Firefighter / EMT’s
