 The VISION of Brooksville Fire Rescue is to provide our  residents, businesses, and visitors in our community emergency services designed to minimize risk, and protect lives and property. We will strive to meet these goals by providing prompt and professional emergency response in the event of a fire, medical emergency, natural disaster, or any other hazards which may threaten our community and welfare.



The MISSION of Brooksville Fire Rescue is to be recognized by our community, and citizens as a “Standard of Excellence” in providing efficent fire and emergency medical services through community education, and prevention. In doing so we will foster a community equity of trust, involvement, and cohesion in response to the concerns and needs of the citizens of our community.

Fire Chief Timothy A. Mossgrove, MPA, CFO 


Chief Mossgrove started his career in the fire service in 1982 in Wellsburg, West Virginia, with a small community fire department called Franklin Community. He moved to Florida in June 1986 and joined the Brooksville Fire Department as a firefighter. Chief Mossgrove holds an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Fire Service Technology, Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Safety Administration, and a Master's in Public Administration. In August 2011 Chief Mossgrove completed the process and was awarded the designation of Chief Fire Officer from the Center of Public Safety Excellence.

Brooksville Fire Rescue is proud to announce the new PPC for Brooksville Fire Rescue effective July 1, 2014 is a PPC 3. This new classification also brings the fire department to join the ranks of the top 7.7% of the fire departments in our nation who have a PPC three (3).  Click here to read the full story. Special Details Print

Brooksville Firefighters are available to work special details for events that require fire protection such as sporting events, bon-fires, fireworks, demolition derbies, tractor pulls etc.   The cost is $25.00/hour with a 3-hour minimum.  To schedule a Special Detail contact District Chief Stan Mettinger at 352-540-3840 or you may download the form and fax to 352-544-5462.

Organizational Structure and Staffing Print

The Organizational Structure of the Brooksville Fire Department consist of an administrative section that includes the Fire Chief and Administrative Assistant. The Operations Section consists of:

• Three District Chiefs
• Three Captains
• Three Driver / Engineers
• Seven Firefighter / EMT's
• Six Reserve Firefighter / EMT’s
