Letters of Interest Sought for Vacant Council Seat Print

The City of Brooksville is seeking letters of interest from Brooksville residents interested in serving as City Councilman to fill the unexpired term of Joseph E. Johnston, III, Seat #3.  Remaining City Council members will select an eligible resident to complete the term through December 5, 2016.

Those interested in appointment to the Council seat must submit a letter of interest with resume/qualifications to the Brooksville City Clerk.  Letters of interest must be received no later than 12:00 Noon on Friday, July 31, 2015.  The City Clerk is located at 201 Howell Avenue, Brooksville, FL.  Interested residents must also provide proof of City residency for one year prior to July 31, 2015, a current Florida driver's license and current Hernando County voter registration card.

The selected resident will be require to take an Oath of Office and complete a Financial Disclosure Form for formal appointment.  Inquires concerning this matter can be directed to the City Clerk at (352) 540-3853.

Free Open Gym Basketball at Jerome Brown Community Center Print

The City is pleased to offer FREE open gym basketball at the Jerome Brown Community Center located at 99 Jerome Brown Place.  Beginning on May 1, 2011, and every Sunday thereafter, the gym will be open for basketball play for children 12-18 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Note: There will be no Open Gym on Sunday May, 29, 2011.

The open gym basketball is intended to promote sportsmanship, fun, exercise and encourage a unified community.

Curbside Recycling Partnership with Walmart

The City of Brooksville, in partnership with the Brooksville Walmart Distribution Center, is pleased to announce Single Stream Recycling!

Beginning Wednesday, October 3, 2012, the City of Brooksville will begin Single Stream Recycling of recyclables. The 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month will be collection days.

Single Stream Recycling is when all recyclables are placed TOGETHER in blue bag(s) and placed at the curb for collection.  There is NO sorting required at the home, making recycling easier and more efficient.  (Recyclables will be sorted at a single stream recycling center).

                               Please help! by participating in curbside recycling!

Complete and return this form with your regular Utilities payment and we will drop off recycling bags at your location or you can pick up recycling bags at Brooksville City Hall (201 Howell Avenue) or at City of Brooksville’s Department of Public Works (600 S.
